Hey men,
I'm glad to see that we're actually putting this blog to use. To be honest, I was a little worried because I'd be checking everyday, and then when I was more at ease, I see three posts. It's been a blessing to be able to see people sharing in their posts. I hope that as time goes on, we'll continue to open up.
I'm about halfway through my second week of school and so far it's been good. I can't really complain about 16 hours of class, compared to my first year average of about 25 hrs. I am keeping busy though, running the student Meal Exchange volunteer program. It's an initiative to raise awareness about local hunger, and one of the activities we have is collecting non-perishable foods on Halloween and donating the food to the London Food Bank. I'm very grateful that at this point we have almost 75 volunteers signed up. I'm just praying that this opportunity to serve the community will really open the eyes of students and myself to some of the real issues of this world, and to appreciate and share the luxuries that we have. So feel free to join me in these praises and prayer requests.
Perhaps this is some form of "being missional", but one of the disadvantages of working for impartial charities is that you're not supposed to promote your religious beliefs. Ideally, I would want the message of the gospel to be the backing for this initiative instead of a bunch of generous people giving. So how do I let people know that it's because of God's love that these provisions are being made? I guess that's something I will have to think about for now.
Anyways, it was good to hear from you guys, and I hope you're all doing well with school and stuff. I would love to hear about how CollUni is going too, and I encourage you all to pray for the growth and refinement for this fellowship as they face new challenges in a new school year. I'll also be praying for Justin and Felix too, as per their requests. Have fun everyone!
