Rock Revolution!!!

With the game coming out in a few days (Oct 14), I just thought I'd post a link for Konami's answer to Rock Band. Last time we saw that ridiculous drum set... and it now you can see it in action.

As I came across this video, I initially thought it was a joke, but it's real. It's Rock Band with worse graphics, a terrible interface, and songs list that boasts titles such as Sk8r Boi. In addition to that, the game only comes with drums - you just have to use your Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar to play guitar parts - and no microphone. This was presented at some games conference and it's just so hard for me to believe it's legit. The guy who demos it isn't that great at the game and at one point in the video he starts twirling his drumsticks as if he's owning it and then he starts acting all modest. You just have to watch it.

Oh yeah and get this. If you're a Wii owner, you can join in on the action too!

"On the Wii, instead of the specialized controllers players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk for "an air-drum and air-guitar experience" similar to Ultimate Band.^[1] The game will be simplified for the Wii control scheme, and Wii guitar and drum controllers will not be compatible."


Man. Imagine being a kid and asking your parents for Rock Band for Christmas, and instead they get you Rock Revolution. I'm pretty sure that's how this game will make a majority of its sales.

Conservapedia

I heard about this site on CNN one night. Conservapedia is basically wikipedia written by conservatives with a really pro-Christian point of view. They claim that Wikipedia is too biased and is anti-American and anti-Christian, and too liberal. Go figure. Given what Bernard brought up about the general perception of Christians, it's really no surprise that the generally secular public doesn't exactly endorse Christian views, especially on topics like homosexuality and evolution. This site actually receives a lot of hits, and you should probably check it out. They have articles on almost everything, and you should especially read their article on "Bias in Wikipedia".

Found this article that I thought you guys might be interested in. I love the comments in particular; there's even an atheist who studies theology who disagrees with the article, summing it up with "It is not inconceivable that we are children of a God, and simultaneously the product of thousands of years of evolution."

The church may be persecuted but I'm always amazed at the diversity of minds that God opens. It's such an encouraging thing.

On Fame

This article pretty much sums up why I'd be perfectly content not "making it big" as a musician. Even before becoming Christian I knew my space and privacy was worth more to me than celebrity-level wealth and fame. But lately I've been wondering - what if the work I've been called to do vaults me into that realm? I trust God to guide me, but still, it's a scary thought.
